642 Things To Write About

Some years ago I found this book in Waterstones and was struck by the idea.

“This collection of 642 outrageous and witty writing prompts will get the creative juices flowing in no time. From crafting your own obituary to penning an ode to an onion, each page of this playful journal invites inspiration and provides plenty of space to write. Brimming with entertaining exercises from the literary minds of the San Francisco Writers’ Grotto, this is the ultimate gift for scribes of every stripe.” (comment from the web)

I’ve never thought of myself as having good verbal skills – grade 9 English Literature ‘O’ level – much preferring art & maths. However ,occasionally I’m up for a challenge, like joining the villlage theatre group when I turned 50. And no-one would see what I wrote so there was no reason to feel inhibited.

But what’s there to be afraid of? So here are my efforts so far. Maybe this will encourage other people to have a go.
